Ringing in ears for a week now, anyone else?
I have had ringing in my ears for a week now after shouting really loud. I have never had it for this long before, does any out there have experience of tinnitus, and if they have, only had temporary bout, how long did it last for?
I am thoroughly depressed from it already at the moment and terrified at the thought of having this for life! I have a 6wk old baby and two toddlers which doesn’t make it easy either.
go and see your doc, they will refer to to the ENT department. tinnitus is unpredictable, sometimes someone can have it for a few minutes, others a lifetime, it just depends on the damage done to the ear drum…
however, there is nothing that can be done for tinnitus…
but one saving grace about it, is that it is a constant level sound. it doesn’t vary pitch or volume, it just simply ‘is’ there.
the problem with it, is like any noise, once you notice it you can ‘ignore’ it.
get referred, they can at least investigate into it, and let you know if any damage has been done…
