I have had one for years and keep doing what someone told me, trim it down as far as you can. It keeps comming back and is annoying, I want it to be gone.
Hi Rachel, First off I am sorry to hear that your having issues with your toes...hope this helps. * First off what you want to do is dissolve about ΒΌ of a cup of salt in a basin of water and soak your toes. Dry your feet & carefully trim the hangnail. Do not to rip the hangnail off which can cause more pain and possible infection. * Next Rub olive oil into your hangnails to soften the skin and make your hangnails much less painful. * Soak your hangnails in apple cider vinegar and water. Mix equal amounts of very warm water and apple cider vinegar in a basin, bowl or cup and soak hangnails for about 15 to 20 minutes. * Put a little honey on your hangnail. Honey will soften a hangnail and help to heal it. Honey will also keep a hangnail from becoming infected. * Finally Dab your hangnails with a little isopropyl alcohol. The alcohol will dry out the hangnail and cause it to fall off.
I hope this will really get rid of it for ya. If it doesnt I would def consider consulting a doctor about it.
Good Luck.
