How do you get rid of funny-bone-itis?

Clearly not the medical term for my problem, but I don’t know what it’s called, lol. You know when you hit your elbow, and you get that uncomfortable tingling feeling shooting through your arm? Well, I get it constantly, even when I just rest my elbow on the arm of a chair or something…anyone had this before, and how do I make it stop?

Answer #1

go to a comedian-psycologist?

Answer #2

Answer #3

Try puttin like a little pillow under ur elbow when it will be on a hard place, it seems like that wud help a little

My mom had somethng similar to that, and it turned out to be Carpal Tunnel. It’s also possible that your Ulnar Nerve is pinched, which would be the cause of the tingling. I would call the doctor, just to be safe :)

Answer #5

Hmm, when you are resting your arm on the arm of the chair, or a table…you’re probably compressing your ulnar nerve, which can create that tingling feeling as if you hit your “funny-bone”.

Usually, it’s not a problem unless you do something which compresses it (possibly damage it) and causes chronic “tingling” feeling…if that makes sense. :/

I don’t think it’s anything serious…but I would go to the doctor and have it checked out to make sure it’s nothing serious…and maybe they can give you some advice on how to prevent it from happening.

Answer #6

Pinched nerve…that is what I was trying to think of, lol. :/

Answer #7

does your neck hurt at all? jw. maybe your neck is out of position causing a nerve to be pinched slightly getting that numbness/tingling feeling. i have had that several times, chiropractor helped that out. and also it could be tendentious of the elbow(aka tennis elbow) use heat and ice regularly. always use ice 1st for like maybe 30 min then heat for 20-25 min. do it like maybe 2 or 3 times a day and it could help.

Answer #8

Are you feeling it in your little finger, and the one beside it? Thats a good indication its definately the ulna nerve which is affected. It may be cubital tunnel syndrome. You would need a doctor to check it. If it is that, it may not be that severe. In some cases it requires surgery to give the nerve more space, but often it just needs splinting, hand exercises and anti-inflamatories.
