How can I get rid of my acid reflux?

Use an antacid for temp. relief. Then:

1. Do not overeat. That puts pressure on your stomach and is therefore more prone to cause reflux.
2. Do not eat for 2 hours before bed time. Or strenuous activity.
3. Smaller meals, maybe more times a day. ( . Usually the above will stop reflux. .
4. If it keeps coming back, omeprazole (Prilosec OTC or generic) can reduce the amount of acid your stomach produces (short term unless your doctor OKs longer).

If it continues to persists, you may have a weak cardiac sphincter (that’s the muscle that closes the top of the stomach). Seeing a doctor may help.

Also helps to avoid acidic and fatty/greasy foods and spicy foods. Cut down on caffeinated beverages and chocolate - both have chemicals that cause the cardiac sphincter to relax. Drink lots of water.
