Resume picture

Hi:) I’m applying for a job at a women’s clothing store and they want me to send a picture of myself and I’m insecure of what I should be doing/look like in the picture. Should it be a casual picture, like with normal casual clothing smiling or like a passport picture?

I’m nearly 100% sure that there’s no funky business going on.I’m applying through a summerjob website thats made by an organization that specializes in finding work for people between ages 17 and 25 - so it would be really weird if they posted the available position if they thought something was wrong.

The store I’m applying for is also a chain with ca. 100 stores in Norway, so I think I can trust them :)

But thank you for saying, my father is helping me later on me resume - if he thinks something wrong the will talk to the labour board :)

That’s a highly irregular request for a job in a clothing store.

Before you send anything, you should talk to the labour board…unless the job is directly related to your looks (modeling, acting, etc.) they can’t request a photo of you.

If they don’t like what they see, they won’t call you for an interview - it’s discrimination.

Just call the store and ask what they are needing. I’m sure they will be glad to help you. If they just tell you to send a picture, just get one that is fairly recent that you are dressed decently in. Make sure you are the only one in the photo. Sam

if they’re requiring a photo along with the resume, then rather scan the photo and print it together with the entire resume. if they require the actual photo, then better call ‘em of what type of photo has to be submitted than sending the wrong one.. hope someone knows more than I do that can help yah.. good luck with your job interview anyway… :-)
