If the person is talking directly to you, just tell them that you aren’t comfortable discussing things about people who aren’t there to defend themselves. If they persist, politely excuse yourself from the conversation.

If you simply overheard the person talk to someone else about your friend, its probably best to simply mind your business and not get involved.

To be honest, its best just to not get in the middle of it. Lets face it, there are two sides to every story, and you may not completely understand why that person is saying what they are saying. Throughout life, you are going to find people who talk about you and who talk about your friends. You’ll be miserable if you constantly worry about it.

The bottom line is that you can’t control what comes out of peoples mouths. Its pointless to even try. However, you can control what goes into your ears. If you don’t like what you’re hearing, simply remove yourself from the situation.

Well if you like that person as a friend or if the person talking about your friend is close to you then you should just tell them to stop even if they dont like that person there your friend and you dont want people trash talking them.
