Relaxing music?

I really need to relax and I need types of music to relax me. I love music, but all my music have words in them. What type of music should I look for to relax my mind and body? I don’t need the artist just the genres. Thank you so much.

Classical Gas by Vanessa Mae is kind of a modern twist to a 70’s band which was a modern twist to classical music. I have always liked Tchaikovsky (Good for any occasion) and Pachelbel (the first one hit wonder).

instrumentals are awesome to relax to. especially oriental instrumentals [like chinese or japanese ones. Have you heard of Joe Hisaishi?! His music was in Memoirs of a Geisha. that soundtrack is one that relaxes you to sleep.] umm piano classics are very nice. like the new Bella’s Lullaby. that is very relaxing. Genre-wise, it would all go under instrumentals..but if you want something with lyrics that is relaxing, I’d go with experimental stuff like Frou Frou [try Let Go] Flying Lotus is experimental as well and their music is pretty soothing to me. ummm OH try Yoga music. or meditation music. you can just type these up on youtube and great relaxing stuff will come up. Easy Listening is nice as well. ummm Jungle music is okay but it can be pretty loud. Also..hmm…the soundtracks from Spirited Away and other movies by that director are very soothing. I hope this helped.

Get the albums by Pink Floyd- Animals, and Wish you were here.

Answer #4

explosions in the sky are always relaxing to me. they are instrumental

Answer #5

I have got another good one. Again, it’s a band, not just a genre, but you could also listen to Cat Stevens, he’s really relaxing for me. Also, from my experience, a lot rock bands that usually aren’t acoustic but make some of their songs into acoustic ones can be really relaxing.

I second the suggestion of classical music, you just have to make sure you’re listening to calm classical music, not aggressive stuff. But usually even if one movement of a piece is aggressive, there is usually also a mellow part.

Answer #6

Trance music is very relaxing.

Answer #7

Well, I don’t know any exact genres, but I know a band. You should listen to God is an Astronaut. They’re purely instrumental and really really good. If I’m not mistaken, their genre is called Post Rock, but I’m not sure if all Post Rock bands are like them.

Answer #8

Mozart is relaxing and bella’s llalaby

Answer #9

Answer #10

classical music always works listen to it while you sleep

Answer #11

Try to listen to a band called Apocolyptica. They took some songs from Metallica and other bands and turned them into beautiful, relaxing music by playing them on cello. My favorite song of theirs (and one that I highly recommend) is called Nothing Else Matters.

Some other good music to try out is by Clazziquai. It’s a Korean band that sings in Korean and English. I know that you don’t want lyrics, but some of their songs are so relaxing and soothing. Those songs are:

Chi Chi Color Your Soul Dance Friday Blues

Meh, just now realized you don’t want artists, and would rather have genres so… Go for Bossa, type Yoga into genres, perhaps even Fusion : )
