Personally, no…But my former mother in law was 2nd cousin to Jack Dempsey, the prize fighter and somehow they are also related to Sir Walter Raleigh on her mothers side as well.

A good friend of mine was living in our basement suite when Natalie Portman was attending Harvard University (1.5 miles from us), and he was asked through a messenger if he wanted to go on a date with her. (She’s Israeli-born, and he lived there for several years, plus he’s one of the most awesome people I’ve ever met.) As a religious Jew, he’d only want to date someone to explore together whether marriage might be a possibility, so after considering it for a few days he said thanks but no, because he decided he wouldn’t want to marry someone whose life is so public.
