how did they get back to the "real world" from the island?

and like they were dead already.. but how r they alive? and why dont they recognize each other? and its just bugging me how they got back? it never showed that.. and how did they come to life again

when some of them got off the island in an earlier season? If i remember correctly on a helicopter? Dont remember the specifics though
