There are so many - the above websites are pretty good reference. Do you have any specific topics that you like?

It’s legal if the website is educational, or if it’s the website of the author and he/she publishes it, mainly you’ll find extracts of books on those sites

I know of a few different sites like onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/ where you can read a lot of different books and it is legal as long as the website is an educational website.
