Why do I react so badly to brooms?!

Ok this question could sound pretty weird to you guys, but whenever I hear a broom being used I get MEGA distressed. I can’t remember when this started though. An example of my reaction: a few minutes ago, my mum was sweeping the concrete ground with a broom and I heard it and I just ran to the sofa and started getting really frustrated with it, repeating quietly to myself over and over again “stop it, stop it”. I got so frustrated I began crying and kicking my legs out really quickly over and over again. I rushed to my room to continue crying and I’ve now calmed down but when I kept remembering the sound, I repeatedly and quickly tapped my fingers against the laptop. I have NO idea why I react this way. Does anyone have any idea what’s wrong or why I react this way?? I’ve had this sort of reaction for ages but I keep it in if I can. It’s really annoying and seems pretty weird :L

It’s possible that somewhere back in your early childhood, an incident happened that was somehow relevant to that sound. Perhaps a horrible memory is locked up in your subconscious. This is something that a psychologist can help you figure out. If it’s a memory that is trying to escape, then simply allowing it to get out may finally solve the problem.
