Razor burn/Allergic reaction bikini area..what to do?

Okay so this is emberassing, but I think I have some kind of razor burn or allergic reaction at my bikini area. Well not exactly my bikini area, it’s actually kind of on my upper legs. Go to my photos and look at the picture that says “rash”. There you can see which area I mean, because I don’t know how to call it in English. (Im Dutch) So since a couple of months it’s all red down there with some kind of spots/pimples and it’s really disgusting. Now I always wear a boardshort over my bikini because I’m too emberassed to go without. It’s not like it’s huge or REALLY gross, but you do see that its red and stuff there and my skin is just not smooth. I think it’s a razor burn or stuff, because I do shave down there sometimes. Maybe theyre ingrown hairs? Anyway, what should I do about it? How can I get my skin to be all smooth and not-red anymore? Any help please??

With razor burn the best thing I have found is a good lotion. Not much you can do about after the fact. First off check your razor. If it was old that may be the issue. Most razors are not meant for use beyond a certain time. If you’re doing your legs and bikini area, do the bikini area first. Second, did you use anything different this time compared to last time? If it is an allergic reaction it’d most likely be the new product you used.

Everyone is different with how well certain products work. I have a difficult time shaving in that region because I do get a lot of ingrown hairs. It just hurts if I do shave, but some products have helped make it better. Bikinizone is one of them that was recommded to me. Essentially it is just after shave for that area. I already assume you know how to do a good shave as it is. If you need more specific advice, just email me.

In my experience, there is only once fool-proof method for avoiding razor burn: don’t shave down there, wax! Waxing changed my life. No razor burn, results last MUCH longer than shaving, and it’s relatively quick and painless. If you do it yourself, it’s also relatively easy and cheap!

I recommend Nair peach melon microwaveable sugar wax (come in a kit that includes wax, strips, and applicator) for about $8.00, and is available at WalMart, Walgreens, CVS, and many other stores. GiGi brand microwaveable stripless wax and GiGi brand sugar wax (uses strips) also work great, and are available at many beauty supply stores such as Sally Beauty Supply. Both cost around $12 and contain enough wax for many, many uses.
My best friend prefers strips that come pre-waxed–you just rub them on the area and pull off in the opposite direction of hair growth. Not sure if they require a microwave or not. In any case, they can be found at WalMart and any high-end beauty supply store.

Good luck! Hope this helps!
