What:Is it possible to get a rash from water that had a dead body in it?

Woah morbid question. Uhm,i’ll quickly explain this. Me and my cousin some how got on this subject the other day. And i never thought about it until that day.. When i was 15 me and some girls in the church i was going to,all went to this reservoir called,Sand Hollow. Me and my friend Alex,just had our legs in the water for most of the time being there. And a lot of the other girls went swimming and stuff. –Sand hollow is known for cliff diving and swimming and stuff… Anyway it’s about 2 hours away from where i live so when i got home to wash up i found a rash all over my legs. I figured it was nothing,until Alex called me and told me she has a rash on her legs too. We both had red bumps all over and it itched and was sore all over. And i found out that 5 other girls had the same rash as we did. Although there’s was all over them,vs us just having it on our legs. Anyway,2 days after i heard on the news a dead body was found not far from where we were. The body had been there for almost a week or something. >_< It grossed me out and i haven’t went back to Sand Hollow since. –Anyway i told Kami (my cousin) about it and she freaked out and thinks we got a rash because of the dead guy or something. Lol,stupid as this is to ask,is that possible?

why? have you been in water that had a dead body in it? and - yes - it is very possible… when a body had slowly deteriated or dissolved in the water - skin from that body can cause your skin to become irretated.

It’s very likely that the rash was caused by something in the water, but I doubt it was the body. Just think about how many dead fish and other animals are in there. Snails, however, carry a parasite that can cause rashes in people.

O_o. Well there is no fish in Sand Hollow. So idk. Idk about snails but i know forsure there is no fishes<3

You’re lucky if all you get is a rash. Dead bodies and water are a recipie for deadly disease.

Utah. I live in Santa Clara,utah and Sand Hollow is like,erm,depending on how fast you drive,is about 2-3 hours away. –But there is an indoor swimming pool in my town also called Sand Hollow.

it was about 4 years ago,i beleive it was july or aug. when we went,if that helps. I don’t rememeber the exact date. I was 15,i’m 19 now,almost 20. So yeah :)

Hmm.. idk all i heard and what my mom said was body found there. And it got me thinking. Eiether way,atleast i know if i ever do go to another lake and this situation were to happen,not to get in the water. just the thought freaks me out though
