How to make the band team?
ok I want to try out to be a flag/dance girl in my school’s band. do anyone have any advice or know how I can prepare or what I need to know before I try out or any tips for making the team?
also this is a high-stepping band (like the one’s at the HBCU’s (think drumline) )
Just be well coordinated, and be able to learn things quickly. I don’t know if you’ve practiced throwing a baton before or not, but make sure you know how to do basic moves with a baton, like throwing it in the air and catching it. The flag will be a lot heavier than a baton, but it will get you going in the right direction.
Make sure you smile a lot when you audition. If you have a bubbly personality, and have a lot of school spirit this will help too.
