How old to take a puppy to the dog park?

How old does a puppy have to be to be taken to the dog park???

Answer #1

You’re welcome!

Also, at 4 months, she can get her rabies :) But not until then. Let me know if you have any other dog questions lol.

Answer #2

Absolutely…get ALL her shots in before exposing her to other dogs…I think it’s a set of 3 shots, anymore…but I could be wrong.

I’d get vaccinations first, only because a sick animal could be there (Like a Squirrel or Chipmunk) and if your dog were to taunt it he could catch rabies, and I wouldn’t want you, your dog, or other person be hurt and you be liable.

Answer #4

he/she should probably have all vaccinations, just in case, but I think it probably depens on the park. some may only want older dogs, etc.

Answer #5

Thanks!

I heard that it is not safe until they have had all of their vaccinations…is that true???

Answer #6

I don’t think there is an age, but watch your Puppy closely. Most of the time, you have to clean up their poo if they do go to the Bathroom.

By the way, your puppy is adorable!

Answer #7

It is actually 3 sets of shots.

She’d need the 5-in-1 (also called DAAcP) and also Bordatella (kennel cough vaccince) if she is being exposed to other dogs at the dog park.

The shots can begin at 6 weeks of age (the first set) and then after two weeks, the second set and then after two more weeks, the third set.
