What are some good things to put on my CV?

I’m applying for a part time job until I go to college, as I’ve left high school now and will have nothing to do for 4 months. I already did a CV for my BTEC Workskills course last year, but I want to know what I could add to it. So far I have: Name DOB Address Junior School High School Mobile/home phone number Email GCSE predicted grades (since I don’t have my results yet) The grades I already have Other Achievments Hobbies/interests Work experience

Should I add anything else to this?

You can add the below mentioned points:

Heading : Your name in bold letter Personal Statement / Career Aim Passport Number Training Undergone Conferences/ Workshop Attended References : Available on request

Answer #2

Hmm….. I am only 15/16, so… LOL Plus, due to my family life turning upside down, I have no references.

Answer #3

Okay. Career Aim may be the best addition !

Answer #4

Hmm… the job I’m applying for has nothing to do with my career aim, as I’m planning on working in a different country, LOL

Answer #5

I don’t think anything else you need to include.

Answer #6

Ok, now all I need to do is retype it and hand it to the manager on Sunday. LOL

Answer #7

You must remember that the first page of your CV, creates an impression. Upon skimming the first page, if nothing impresses the prospective employer, he will not read further.

Apart from the list already mentioned, write a brief synopsis of yourself. For example state the attributes that you are able to bring to the workplace, such as reliability, punctuality, consideration, team player. Do not write this as a list, create a paragraph.

Make that first impression, and give your future employer the incentive to read on.
