Instead of getting another dog, why don’t you spend more time with the ones you have? I was wanting another dog recently because I have had the same dog for over 6 years. After a while they get kinda boring. However, instead of getting a new dog, I began training my old dog on an obstacle course. It was so much fun that I realized I already had the perfect dog!

Hang out with your dogs for a while and take care of them completely. Don’t slack off! Also pick up more responsibilities around the house to show your dad that you can handle responsibility. If you still choose to get a new puppy, mention to your dad that you have been helping a lot around the house and you think that you are ready for more responsibility.

If he still says no, don’t get upset. Act like an adult and calmly ask if there are any ways that you can show how responsible you are to change his mind. Hopefully, he’ll see the new more responsible you and let you get another dog.
