what? Can I get a puppy for 50$ or less at petsmart?

Answer #1

I dont know much about how dogs cost where you are but have you taken into consideration the cost of things like registration, microchipping, food etc? From what I hear dogs are pretty expensive…

Answer #2

You should go to your nearest animal shelter they have all kinds of beautiful animals in there too and they wont cost you an additional 20$

Answer #3

no, i wouldnt think so, if petsmart is a pet store and your country has pet stores like pretty much everywere else, there pets are not cheap, a puppy or kitten cost a few hundren dollars, around $100-$400, not $50. if your looking for one that cheap you need to look on noticeboards were poeple are selling there puppies/dogs, or better yet, save one from the pound. people always buy cute baby animals then when they grow up, usually get rid of them, those puppies and animals in the petstore are gaurenteed a home no matter how expensive they are. the millions of animals in the pound who could use a lot of love are free, yet sadly majority of them will be put down

Answer #4

It might be thru the adoption thing they have at Petsmart every month….and therefore…yes. It would be the price that you pay when you go to the shelter (that’s the dogs they take to an adoptathon)…..

Answer #5

I’m not sure what you local PetSmart is like, but the two in my area only offer kittens from local shelters for adoption and they are probably around the $50 or less range, but I haven’t ever seen puppies of dogs of any kind for adoption or sale at PetSmart. If your store had puppies for sale, I would recommend not buying them, no matter what the price is. Most puppies found in pet shops are from puppy mills, mass puppy producing ‘factories’ that have little or no concern for the puppies or the parents of the puppies and many have diseases and health defects. Look for ads in the newspaper selling puppies that say ‘parents on premises’ which implies that they are responsible small-time breeders and expect you to look around, meet your puppy’s mom and dad and not find any signs of neglect. The price of the puppy depends on breed and may range from free to thousands of dollars. Do keep in mind that no matter what the initial price of the puppy is, expect to have a lot of money wrapped up in your new friend for visits to the vet, food etc. Dogs aren’t cheap pets.

Please just adopt one from the pound. There are always homeless puppies at he one near me (just got in a litter of 6 lab puppies). And the adoption fee is around $75. They often have purebred puppies at shelters, too. And you’d be saving a life. Please don’t try to buy one. Adopt. It saves lives.
