Psycho ex!!!

Ok so my ex has recently told me that he still loved me and that he wanted me 2 b happy, even if that means not being with him and staying with my current boyfriend, he said that he wont b mad at me and that we can still b friends. He stares at me all the time, and apparently he tlks about me constantly 2 his friends. I had heard a lot of stories about him spreading rumors about me, and about him thinking that I am his propety. I had heard a few months ago from a friend, something that really disturbed me. She said that she heard my ex and another guy in the hall talking. The other guy was saying that he kind of still liked me, and my ex told him no he cant because someday I am going 2 b his again. However I chose 2 believe my ex when he said that he hasnt been spreading rumors about me, or making stupid plans 2 get me back. However he did tell me that he and his friend had called me a whre, he said he knows that I am not 1 but he was mad about something and he was taking it out on me. However he called me a whre after me and my boyfriend had just hungout with him and his friend. Anyways I chose 2 forgive him, but now people are calling me a wh*re, and today a group of girls that I didnt even know shouted across the street that I am a slut. No 1 ever called me these names before, and all my exs friends are mad at me. I know that he is the 1 starting these rumors, most likely because he wants me and my boyfriend 2 breakup. Anyways why do you think he is starting these rumors, and how do I get them 2 stop??? Please help thanks!!!
