Protein in urine in early pregnancy

So, I’m about 11 weeks pregnant, and my doctor detected some protein in my urine. I did a 24 hour catch, and am waiting the results. I am really freaked out about this. I do believe that part of it may be not getting enough fluids in such hot weather, I am always thirsty, and because I have been throwing up I’m thinking I may not be getting enough fluids, but I don’t know. Has anybody else ever have this? I wish they would just call today and let me know where we’re taking this and what the possibilities are so I can stop worrying.

Protein in the urine during pregnancy is common and slightly higher levels are often an indication of kidney/ urinary tract infection. If you were in your late pregnancy it would raise alarms that preeclampsia may be developing - that’s something you don’t want, as it can be fatal for you and baby.

I’m sure your doctor is being cautious and making sure everything is fine - it’s better to have a warning sign of an impending issue than to find out too late to do anything about it.
