Answer #3

Answer #4

Answer #5

Answer #6

yea, but the prostitute would have to work in a area not controlled by a pimp, or she runs the risk of gettin beaten, or drugged into working for a pimp

Answer #7

No offense Age, I really hate questions like this because it is really a waste of time & energy to be even discussing something like this as an occupation or a way of life without thinking of some other alternative(which do exist!)that can contribute to one’s source of income plus keep their sanity & dignity without feeling so cheap & disgusting in the long run. No to mention just the thought of not getting ab*sed by the person v!olating her or worse!

Tell whom ever it is that is considering ths occupation or source of life to find help bcz they really need some. To even get to this kind of decision as to reduce one’s self to become one, is screaming for real help. Perhaps so insecure about one’s self to even imagine doing something that would be more suitable & also not have to go through painful memories.

maybe not the answer you were looking for, but a real one from the heart.

Answer #8

Thank you, but trust me, nobody that I know (including myself) is even remotely close to considering this as a “profession”.

Answer #9

You can. “Prostitution is the act or practice of providing sexual services to another person in return for payment”(Wiki). Many prostitutes need pimps because they supply them dru gs and customers. Most are runaways and have nothing left to lose so they turn to pimps to provide them with shelter. Pimps are all about making money. They get the girls hooked on dru gs and when they develop an addiction, they make them start paying for it. Because they don’t have money, they will start selling themselves even more. Most prostitutes have fallen in the pimps traps but some haven’t just yet.

Answer #10

I hope not…my heart goes out to women that do…honestly.

Answer #11

I think it’s a viable question, personally. What a woman chooses to do with her body is her own decision. Prostitution is everywhere, we can’t just ignore things like this and hope they go away.

Answer #12

First of all, I wasnt ignoring it, I answered it according to my personal opinion. Second of all, I am not going to sit here & encourage it, especially if I can offer another way. Now, if others choose to encourage it that is their problem. Yes, its a woman’s choice to do what she wants when she wants to, but with that said, that wasnt the issue nor the topic here…Right?! We are here to offer advice to help others, not encourage sh!t like prostitution as a way of life…There are always other means & sources to make ends meet that dont involve becoming a prostitute…Yes prostitution is everywhere but educating them & offering a support system that will show them it’s ok to allow yourself to try something else, more meaningful is a better solution to fix that problem in today’s society…is that not?

Answer #13

Easily yes….

Answer #14

Take a look at the website of the Young Women’s Empowerment Project. Here’s the link, but first I want to type out the URL, because I like it:

youarepriceless.org

“Our mission … is to offer safe, respectful, free-of-judgment spaces for girls and young women impacted by the sex trade and street economies to recognize their goals, dreams and desires. We are run by girls and women with life experience in the sex trade and street economies. We are a youth leadership organization grounded in harm reduction and social justice organizing by and for girls and young women (ages 12-23) impacted by the sex trade and street economies.”

They have a very balanced approach, neither supporting nor opposing sex work, but rather supporting and trusting the people who are involved in it - to choose what is best for themselves in difficult circumstances, to support each other, and to take leadership.

I recommend their very readable report (researched and written by the young women and girls themselves) called “Girls do what they have to do to survive: A study of resilience and resistance.”

The only downside I can see to this group is that they don’t include young men and boys who are in the same sort of situation. (They do, however, include transgender girls and women.)

Answer #15

To answer the actual question, yes you can. The pimp isn’t even need for obvious reasons; all they do is take in a percentage of the money for just being a pimp.

On the side of prostitution being a right or wrong; this is purely an idealogical assessment.

Answer #16

Yes. But a majority of women who fall into this work have been brought into it by their pimps, they didnt become prostitutes and then find pimps. They were exploited and used by these men. Oh, and I have no issue with women choosing to engage in this. It’s their life and their body, and I see no good reason to judge them. In fact if they legalized it, the whole exploitation thing would be far less common.
