Who can help me with the process of identifying Aqueous cations?

It says this in the syllabus:

• Describe the following tests to identify: aqueous cations:

aluminium, ammonium, calcium, copper(II), iron(II), iron(III) and zinc (using aqueous sodium hydroxide and aqueous ammonia as appropriate)

I dont really understand the test for it xD can anyone who understands chemistry rlly well explain it to me? :P thank you! :)
