What is the problem when a computer won't shut down?

I get that every now and then and end up having to remove the battery from the back of the laptop and it shuts down completely. Just remember to let the laptop reboot the normal way and let the program fix itself. I’m not a computer expert but pressing the “start” button or power button too many times whilst the laptop is ‘thinking” or trying to shut down will harm the stuff that is inside the laptop, that is, you end up having to uninstall and re-install programs etc…I tend to hibernate my laptop instead of shutting it down.

I got lucky, just had to take the battery out for a bit. Have to do that to my phone sometimes too.

it results in the loss of data, it mostly corrupts the files, and then it will be big problem for you to gather them back. :)

The similar problem I had two weeks ago. But in my case it was Computer virus called Smart HDD.
