It really varies… There are lots of factors to consider (eg. the stage of the relationship, the longevity of the relationship, etc). Typically when you start having sex in a relationship it all seems fun and you do it quite often. Some couples start to then do it less, etc. It’s impossible for me to generalise really. Each couple on their merits…

There is no “normal”. Some couples have sex once a day, others have sex once a month, maybe even once a year.

normal would be as much as both partners want to… there is no specific amount.

It all depends on the libido of the people involved…I know for me and my relationship, I can have sex 3 or more times a day and then I have times when I’ll go weeks without sex…it’s hormonal for me!

Although every person on the planet is not identical, there are indeed some typicals and some “norms.” Sure there are people who have it once a year. But are they both happy with that? Aren’t they then, more like room mates?

So I’m going to take a different viewpoint here from my fellow advisors and FA friends, and say, I’d think normal is — more than twice a week, and less than once a day.

I think relationships are dynamic, and couples go through phases of excitement… There might be a while where some hot new fantasy has you in the bedroom twice a day for a few weeks. Then it levels off and you’re down to once a day, or once a week.

This is assuming you actually live together.
