What is a preppy girl?

In general someone who thinks there better then others, kinda snotty and looks down upon people but thats just steriotypically speaking.

When I was in school, a Preppy was someone who wore expensive Alligator polo shirts and rugby pants and came from money. Obviously from Kelsii’s answer the meaning has changed over the years. : )

well,, i am kinda preppy like i wear polo shirts to school.. i am not really popular. and i only have one boyfriend and he is my first boyfriend that i have had for about 1 year soo.. idk if i can count my self at preppy.. i was just wandering wat yall think was it is. but i think i am preppy i am just really sweet to ppl and im nothing like wat ppl say they are from the answers i have just read

When I think of preppy I just think of an annoying girly girl who wears lots of pink and skirts and who is all out obnoxious and gossips and is shallow. And sometimes preppy chicks can be bitches. I know that’s sorta stereotypical sounding that’s just what I think of. Preppy is more of a style though. Lots of girly accessories and that sorta thing.

well i am preppy.. i wear polo shirts.. and preppy girls at our school or at my school they are just really sweet but all the popular girls they are just really mean.

Here preppy is termed as someone who dress is fancy expensive clothes.. like wearing an arga sweater with a pleaded skirt and stockings etc. preppys usually have a i am better than you attitude and you shall lick my shoes… think of like young country club girls lol

In my experience, not all preppy girls are bad. Not everyone who wears pink & polo shirts is popular, and not everyone who is popular is a bad person. My best friend dresses and talks like a prep but she was never part of the in-crowd and she’s probably the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet. A ‘prep’ is just another label that brings people down :(
