What is the red stamp the pope always uses?

What is the red stamp the pope always uses when he is writing a letter like back in the old days. I don’t know if the pope still does it today but I know the pope did it way back in the 1400’s-1600’s.

Can you please help me?! Thankss=]]

Answer #1

Do you mean the Papal Bull Seal?

Answer #2

Well, a Papal Bull is originally a charter issued by a Pope, but over time, even letters written by the Pope have been placed under this label.

The Papal Bull Seal used to be a lead seal that the Pope placed on the bull, but soon was changed to wax, and then later, to red ink.

Answer #3

I don’t know what it’s called.

On the movie, the other bolyn girl, the pope writes a letter back to the King and when he stamps it it’s like a red wax I think, I just don’t know what it’s called and I need it for a project at school.
