Poopsmellow!
My family and I have to puppy sit a puppy named marsh mellow and he poops and pees everywhere!!! How do I get a 3 month old puppy to potty on the paper like are dogs???
For sure take him out at least 15 mins. after he eats. I would also crate train him (DO NOT leave him in it all the time) He should go out about every two hours.
Pick your food and water up about 7:00pm at night. Do not free feed him. Feed him the only recommended amounts and times per day. I would only feed yours twice a day. 15 mins and pick up the food. Leave water down until 7:00 at night.
Take him out just before you go to bed. Do not stay up and tinker around after his last out for the night. Crate him at night.
Also you may look into changing his food. Some puppy or dog foods have a lot of filler in them and will cause a dog to poop more than others. Only feed the recommended amount for his size and age.
On picking up the food after 15 mins. He will learn to eat his food when it is down and hurry. 15 mins, is plenty of time for a dog to eat. Most have it done in two mins.
Visit your local library, there are tons of books on puppy training.
When he starts going in a circle or sniffing around move him to the paper. When your dog leaves your side, it is most likely wanting to potty. If he has an accident pick him up and take him outside or to the papers. He will learn.

Walk him often, when he potty’s outside reward him with treats and affection. When he goes inside, scold, but never hit. Paper training and puppy pads are a great idea. put down newspaper on the floor in the places it goes potty. Everyday move the paper one foot closer to the door.
Everytime he eats or drinks anything take him to the paper and let him smell the other dogs…you know…their stuff. Why don’t you potty train him outside? If you do that, take him out everytime he eats or drinks anything and take him to the same spot each time and chant to him ‘ do your business marsh mellow ‘. And don’t not punish mistakes but always reward sucess with a dog treat and tell him how much of a good boy he is and just show him lots of love for being a good boy.
I;ve read some great puppy training tips that can help at http://www.DogBuffs.com/
