    Pretty girls - Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez
    Hot - Lady Gaga, Victoria's Secret models, Paris Hilton, Vanessa Hudgens 
        (you might say slutty with Paris and Vanessa but girls who have the guts to take risks doing controversies? That is total attitude...)

When I read this question first thing that came to mind was the terminology or descriptive words “hot” and “pretty”. As all different words are used to define appearances of in this case the female gender. But the key here is your opinion. So I think pretty is used to describe more of a natural beauty that shows through no matter what. hot is a term used to describe more of a made up look which is essentially based on natural beauty but would involve a prepared look as in make up, fashion/clothing and style. One is as it is, the other one for effect. so what happens when you say “pretty hot”?

some of my guy friends told me this and the more I thought about it the more I realized it was soo true. so if someone is pretty, they’re pretty always. But hot is like a phase people go through and they won’t always be hot.

from my experience: “hot” is used by both guys and girls..to me it seems used more as a reference to sexy and cute guys “pretty” is a more nonchalant compliment used from friend to friend but can be really special when said by the special guy ;) for example I call my friends and cousins pretty but not hot… hope I helped lol

hot for me is more talking about body and how “fuckable” the guy or girl is where as pretty is well a compliment about well everything.
