Poem I tried to translate to german

I wrote a simple poem to see if I could translate it to german If there is any mistakes please help me correct them I’m trying to learn german

English: I loved you I trusted you But you broke my Heart in two

German: Ich liebe’d dich Ich vertrauen’d dich Aber dich pleite mein Herz in zwei

Answer #1

in past tense in german, normally, this happens:

I play —> ich spiele I played —> ich habe gespielt

you take the original verb and add “ge” to the beginning and a “t” to the end and then this new verb goes to the end of the sentence

so spielen becomes gespielt machen becomes gemacht

AND lieben becomes geliebt

you have some odd verbs (normally moving words like fahren or gehen) which don’t follow this set pattern and you just have to learn them

gehen —> gegangen fahren —> gefahren blieben —> gebleiben essen —> gegessen

etc

Answer #2

Ich liebte dich, ich vertraute dir, aber du brachst mein Herz entzwei.

This sounds quite poetic because of the use of the simple past (German: Präteritum/Imperfekt) and the use of poetic expressions (such as “brachst mein Herz entzwei”). I’m glad you’re learning German, it’s a lovely language.

And by the way, you’re advice on fingering was great. My girlfriend loves it when I “wiggle” my finger inside her vagina. Thanks…

Ok First line “I loved you” should be “Ich liebte dich”. Second line “I trusted you” should be “Ich vertraute Dir”.

Your third line “You broke my” is completely messed. You made “broke” into “pleite”. But “pleite” means having no money left. And it isn’t a verb. Broke in the meaning of breaking something is “brechen” past tense is “gebrochen”. “dich” is also wrong here. Wrong casus. Id should be “du”. As the usual German sentence has different order of words, I’d translate your last two lines to: “Aber Du hast mir mein Herz gebrochen”
