jewish tradition experienced extreme change after WWII. before the war the jewish population in the united states was tiny in comparison with europe, after the war the united states contained the largest jewish population in the world. after the war many jews wanted to incorporate the jewish traditions in a more modern and approachable way. reform judaism was born from this movement. reform judaism started in america and was the direct result of the surrounding culture.
