The other day I bought 500 meal worms for my bearded dragons for the first time, my smaller one, Auma pratically inhaled them, and now I regret letting her eat them, they both threw all of the meal worms up and now Auma is practically on her death branch. I'm freaking out, I love Auma, she's laying around and not moving, except for the major muscle twitching. I don't know what to do, she won't eat, she won't move and she can't seem to even hold her head up... I can't lose her...
Ok, call up the reptile place and see when they open. Do a lot of research online, because this is the best tool for you. If they have any other food, feed it to them in the smallest amounts at a time, try doing this about once/twice a day. If they're still not eating it, it could be because their sick like us humans are. Sometimes I'll get sick and I won't eat anything for a day or too. How long have they been sick? If it starts getting really serious, like their throwing up when they haven't eaten anything then you need to call an animal hospital.
it's not that they don't want to eat, they can't, I've been sitting with auma for about 2 hours and feeding her, she fights with me when I open her mouth, but eventually when I get it open shell leave it open and chew the food I give her, the other is sleeping and im hoping hes ok, hes tired, but hes been eating on his own. They threw up yesterday, and haven't eatin since then, I was worried, but I just assumed they had upset stomachs until I got home today.
Do they have any other food? If so, force feed them a small amount and see what happens. If they throw it back up then don't do anything, just let them be for a while with the food & water availible if they want it. How long have they been sick? I think they would eat when they're really hungry, or maybe they feel sick or don't want the meal worms.
we called the pet store and they said they didn't know, I'm limited with what I can do because my parents ould care less, all they care about is the fact that money was spent on them. The pet store said it was probably indigestion, but they through everything up, so it's obviously not... and the reptile place close to me is closed I think anyway.
you don't understand, if I stop feeding her now, what if it's the only chance I get? what if she dies over night? She can't control her muscle movement, she cant walk, I think she's dying. All she can do is twitch at this point and it seems to be worse everytime I look at her
hey, how's Auna, is she still alive? I'm just sitting with the kinda same problem where mine won't eat... And I'm really getting worried.. We've done nearly everything possible, but I don't know what to do anymore.
Ya, they're probably jsut sick from the meal worms. You should stop feading Auma for a while and see what she does and if she gets sick again. If she does, funmail me and I'll help you as best as I can
Look online and see what you can do for them. Call a pet store and ask them about it. Maybe even call an animal hostpital in your area. If you love them this much, anything's possible.
Is it possible that they're just really hungry? They won't eat, but I force fed one of them, but my muscles twitch when I'm really hungry, maybe that's it?
I would not try and feed her anymore, The one at work we feed only about 3 to 4 meal worms a day. I would look up some info on the internet.
OK ok calcium deficiency maybe? I really hope it's something I can fix...
but she threw all of it up, she has nothing left in her stomach
Can you bring them to the vet?
you have a dragonnn ?!
