why is it, that in pictures, some people's eyes will be completely red because of the flash, while others eyes look completely normal?
I know that the flash causes the retinas to be seen in the picture, and that’s why it’s red, I just don’t understand why some people will have these red eyes in pictures, while others don’t. Mostly because I’m always the one with the red eyes, and everyone else in the picture is normal. Hahah people make fun of me for having “devil eyes” ahaha

The angle at which the camara is at compared to where the person is can make a difference as to how the flash hits the eyes. Also lighter colored eyes tend to look red more often with a flash than darker colored eyes.
You are actually seeing images of the retina, the layer of cells at the back of the eye. There are many blood vessels in that part of the eye,You will note that in virtually every photo in which you see ‘red eye’, the photographer used a flash. The flash was probably on the camera, making it possible for light from the flash to make a reasonably direct trip from flash to retina and back to the camera
duhh? That was the question when they use the flash why do only some people have red eyes
The red color comes from light that reflects off of the retinas in our eyes. In many animals, including dogs, cats and deer, the retina has a special reflective layer called the tapetum lucidum that acts almost like a mirror at the backs of their eyes. If you shine a flashlight or headlights into their eyes at night, their eyes shine back with bright, white light.
