Is it possible to "pick up" accents?

Whenever I watch a movie that has british accents I speak in a british accent (I am british but donk have the accent). Also, when in Texas, many people had the texan accent so I started to speak it.

if you live in a place quite some time, your accent can change.

I think this can happen but only after a really really long time. Otherwise it seems so fake. Does that make sense? Although, picking up the slang is more common.

Considering that I’m a flipino And I can have a pretty good british accent, i agree.

Yes its a common phenomenon that our accent changes with our places of living.Like if we live in Asia we will use more sounds and if we live in America we basically pronounce words in a fast manner and in a broad way. [BITSAT sample paper=http://funadvice.com/r/166e1lh716m]
