How to look good in photographs?

Im going to be graduating in 2 weeks time. Idont like how i come out in pictures, especially if someone other than myself takes it out. My face gets too shiny or i look fatter than i really am :(

Can you give me some tips or tricks to use? Make up or poses that work..

Thanks :)

To have a really perfect (good quality) of picture you need perfect brightness. However, there is a program (like photoshop) in computer where you can eliminate the things that you do not want to have on your pic, like if it is too shiny that you can work it out.

I saw this show on TV once where this guy gave some tips on how to get a good picture. I remember two tips. 1- To make sure you don’t have a double chin in the picture, push your toung e into the roof of your mouth. 2- Lean forward just a little bit. Check out the celebs on the red carpet and you’ll clearly see that all of them are kind of leaning forward just a little. Don’t know why this one works, but it does.

To stop the ‘double chin’ effect on photos, apply a foundation slightly darker than your usual skin tone/ foundation to the area just under your chin. It helps it blend into the background/ your neck more and you won’t see it.

Always try and tilt your chin up slightly and stand up straight/ with a little lean to elongate your body and look slimmer.

Put a light dusting of face powder on before your photos, to reduce shine and maybe get some blotting tissues, to help get off the excess oil before your picture is taken.

Try and stand in good natural lighting and don’t have the camera too close, and the lighting should be ok.

Try not to worry about it, just have fun and try and do some genuine smiles and enjoy your day, and the photos will be fine.

yes i agree with the photo shop bit aswell there is an online one that i use all the time for fun, its called foto flexer

White lights. Yellow actually can show flaws and imperfections. Also make the white light direct. If you do a side light, it will cast shadows on your face and depending on your face shape/cheek bones and facial structure it could be unflattering. Just takea camera and rotate it around you while snapping pics. Findwhat angles work for you

i really wanted photoshop for some art project thing.. but i dont have like £60+ to buy all that. and im quite crappy at using Paint. i youtubed ‘how to get photoshop cs3 for free’.. probably not a very legal thing to do.. but it takes you through a tutorial of how to download it.. then download it.. it gave me no virus’s what so ever. ive got it on my computer and laptop and use it for art and some of my portfolio pictures. i taught myself to use it by googling how to do things on photoshop on youtube.

if not, theres a site called picnik.com and if you become a member there are loads of touch up things you can do to perfect a picture, like brighten eyes, make eyes bigger, change hair colour and eye colour, remove blemishes and rinkles and stray hairs etcetc.. its kinda cheap but costs to become a member.. and the results arent as great as photoshop.. but its so much easier. thats just editing. if you dont want to edit.. then simply make poses infront of a mirror to make your body longer, face slimer, legs longer, there are loads of different poses that help that kinda thing and its not dumb it helps modelling all the time just by learning how to make the most of natural beauty :) hope this helps!
