How do you make Pesto sauce?

is it easy, and is it better to use fresh ingrediants?

Answer #1

Pesto is incredibly easy (and yes - fresh is best) - Just take some fresh basil leaves, a few cloves of garlic, some pine nuts, and freshly grated Parmesan…toss it in a blender and add some olive oil, a little at a time, until the consistency is of a tick paste.

Answer #2

To add to that…if you’re looking to put it on a pasta, you can add a little more oil, so it’s more “saucy” then “pasty”

Answer #3

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil 1/2 cup pine nuts 3 garlic cloves 1/2 teaspoon sea salt flakes 2 cups firmly-packed basil leaves 60g parmesan cheese, finely grated Method Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a small frying pan over medium heat. Add pine nuts. Cook for 3 minutes. Process pine nuts, garlic and sea salt in a food processor until well combined. Add basil and remaining oil. Process to form a coarse paste. Season with pepper. Stir in parmesan. Toss with pasta It sounds easy to make. I think anything fresh will taste better but I don’t think it matters too much. http://funadvice.com/r/bfu7gi2r46n

Answer #4

It doesn’t need to be that complicated….
