Permanent custody of non biological children

I have been raising 2 kids that are not biologically related to me. I have had one child since she was 3 days old, and she is now 7. I have had the other child since he was 1 day old and he is now almost 3. I have temporary custody granted to me. I was wondering if I go for permanent custody, will the birth parents have their rights terminated? we are in south carolina.

Answer #1

Thankyou kindly. Unfortunately, after all these years, the birth mother wants the children.

Answer #2

you have been raising them children all there lives they only know you has there mum and I think you would stand a good chance getting them permanent and I do think that do have no rights after that my step dad adopted me and my 2sisters when we was 7 9 and 11 and we are now 27 29 31 and are real dad has had his rights terminated and now by the law of the courts my then step dad is now classed as my birth father and all of our birth cef where changed as well the only thing is you do have to get permission of the birth parents before you go for this hope all goes well for you and may god bless you for all the hard work you are doing

Answer #3

that is really unfair as your children would not even no this lady hopefully you can try to get full care for them and I do hope the judge will give all parent rights to you
