Why do people worship satan?

Because he is the Lord of Darkness, and approves of such things as orgies and slaking ones unbridled lust on gorgeous sixteen year old Scandinavian girls.

Most Satanic people are just part of the ‘trend’. Mislead kids who get a kick out of being thought of as ‘disturbed’. But there are a lot of people who really do worship Satan. It’s just another religion, the same as Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Catholic, Anglican, Jehovahs, etc etc. The only problem with having Satan as a leader is that is contradicts Christianity and Catholics which are pretty much the biggest religions in the world. If Satan wasn’t the opposing leader to Christ, then people wouldn’t have a problem with him.

I don’t have a problem with Satanism, it is just the people who claim to be Satanists 97% of the time. I’ve met a lot of people who claimed to be as such in my lifetime, but I’ve only met one I could actually respect because he knew his stuff, kept it to himself unless asked and didn’t try to act like some sort of freak. I think that the crowd is most people’s problem with it.

the very foundation of satanic worship was birthed in the churches, the priests would worship god by day and worship the devil by night, its rituals and beliefs are merely the opposite of the rituals of the following of christ. many priests and nuns found their spiritual vows too restrictive so they sought a way to secretly indulge their inner human desires by worshipping the one they were told was evil.

the convents were full of debauchery , many a deviant priest whetted their sexual appetites with the girls that were in the convents and many deviant orgies have been chronicled over time- many of those present at the orgies simply blamed their activity on being possessed by demons.

eventually satanic worship became a singular religion seperated from the catholic and christian church and is what we have today. but in the beginning it was very much practiced by priests and nuns in secret.

just one more hypocritical fact about the followers of christ.

hanji wasnt hating or picking on you most of hanji’s post was a valid answer and as far as I know (im not a satanist so i wont pretend to know my stuff) is true, thats what I heard about the origin as well. Lashing out like that makes you look like a nutjob, if you want people to be more open and accepting, its best not to publically get so defensive and tell someone to shut their mouths, it doesnt look clever or sane.

Well, maybe its cause I have to put up with so much sh!t over the internet, just because of my religious views,esp today when using serveral sites to post my views and I’m super stressed, so I’m not exactally in the mood for sly little comments. and auctally, Satanic worship was birthed from people who believed they were witches, thus the reason why Satanists believe in magic and spells, and try to cast them. While some priests or nuns may have joined or worshiped Satan, they didn’t birth it..

im wiccan, i get lots of sh!t too, but ive learned to handle it with a bit more grace. maybe you need more practice.

Why not? It’s a belief and people can if they want to. They aren’t all ‘evil’; I know a girl who is a Santanist and she’s the sweetest girl ever. (Not hate, just sayin :) ) ~I talk to Satan as much as I talk to God because I like to hear both sides of the story. (Sorry, I just love that quote :D)

Oh, Pentagrams are a Pagan-Wiccan symbol, not Satanic at all :) I believe you’re referring to the inverted pentgram, the Satanic symbol. They are both similiar but the Satanic one has a downward pinting star. And Pagans have no wish to follow or worship the Devil :P And spells are a universal practice for witches and some Wiccas/Pagans as well as some Satanists :)
