Why do people have pictures of famous people as their profile pic?

maybe it’s just cause they really like that celebrity

Maybe they admire those people to want their pic up as their profile pic. Not everyone likes having their actual pictures up on Facebook an MySpace or any other social networking site. People have had their photos stolen off their pages and used on other people’s sites when some don’t want to take a photo of their own.

Perhaps they admire and that person inspires them. It shows other people that you like that person and then someone else might like them too and you could have a conversation and make a new friend. It doesn’t really seem any different compared to somebody who has a cartoon/game character as their profile picture.

they might not be allowed to post real pictures of themselves

I think in some cases people think they can fake and pretend that’s actually them. In most cases maybe the person isn’t allowed to put up pictures of themselves, so rather than having no photos at all they put up celebrities that they love.

so true, or they dont want people to know their true identity so noone knows its them whos asking weird questions
