Why do people judge when someone is "emo"?

I don’t think people really know what emo is, so they judge. From what I’ve read emo started as type of music in the 90’s ish then became a style. But not every one who is emo or who looks emo is depressed, cutting them self, & hates the world. Plus there are people are like that and their nothing close to emo. Either way me personally, I rather not put a lable on someone.

Not all self harmers look ‘emo’, not all people who look ‘emo’ get high, not all people who get high self harm, not all people who self harm don’t want to live and not all people who don’t want to live self harm. Even you’re judging those ‘emo’ people, see? It’s human nature. Emo is a style of music, nothing else.

This is kind of a chain of steriotypes you got going on. People frown apon what they aren’t a part of, or don’t understand why others do the things they do.

The best thing to do, is be the one who doesn’t judge anyone.

i completely agree, i couldnt have said it better. people need to stop assuming things based on how someone dresses but its bound to keep happeniing.

probably because , emos hate the world and their sad people,… how can u live ur life alone, rejecting the rest of the world?
