Why do people have different bellybuttons?

Your navel is actually a scar which was created when your umbilical cord was clipped of you when you were born. That is why you get different belly buttons. No belly button is better or worse than the other.

I don’t think there is any “better” one. They can be different based on genes etc. A hernia also causes some people’s to be out. When I had my first child my grand mother taught me to clean the belly button after the umbilical cord dropped out and to take warm oil and rub the baby’s belly. She said this prevents the belly button from sticking out. I did it for both kids and both of their belly buttons are in.

When a baby is born, the doctors cut the umbilical cord with a knife or pair of scissors, which leaves a lasting impression on the baby’s umbilicus. Some are formed outward and others inward. Doesn’t mean anything in particular. Neither belly button style has any effect on health.
