like for example my sister thinks dimebag darrel is a drummer, when he clearly is a guitarist. so im trying to explain to her that hes not and if you google pictures of him there is not ONE picture of him behind a drum set, and she used to love Pantera (the band) and idk why she wont admit that she is wrong, and shes calling me stupid etc... wtf is her problem?
Some people won't admit they are wrong because they genuinely think they are right. Even if evidence points towards something else being the truth, if they have the slightest piece of evidence that points towards their thinking, they won't let it go no matter what you say. In other cases it could be an issue of not wanting to go through the embarrassment of being wrong, like Robert said.
Whatever the reason may be, there is very little point in arguing with someone who won't admit that you are right. Even though I'm sure it would be satisfying to hear them say "I was wrong" or "you were right", in the long run you'll have a lot more peacefulness just dropping it.
Denial is a way of escaping from the truth. Some people are embarrassed by being proven wrong and don't want to admit to it to avoid facing that embarrassment.
I know, and the sad part is she is ten years older then me and she is acting so imature about it, but thanks ima just let it go and let her feel stupid.
