Why am I peeing so much after sex?

I recently lost my virginity, me and my boyfriend did not use protection because I am on birth control. A few days after we did it I felt the urge to need to pee a lot almost every hour a day, I am also getting cramps and when I wipe myself after peeing there’s blood on the tissue paper. I’m really scared I might be pregnant but my friend told me she was experiancing the same problem and all she had was a urinary track infection. My mother and I have a great relationship but I’m just not ready to tell her I lost my virginity, she is taking me to the hospital and I wanted to talk to the doctor more about sex but without my mom in there. I don’t know what this is could be, I need advice very quickly! Is this just a UTI infection?

Answer #1

I think it is a bodily function to remove excess semen for the urethra and it is a bodily function that lessens the chances of STDs. Its kind of like a wound being healed, or developing immunities, only in this case, it is preventing infection and disease.

Answer #2

Because you probably stimulated the glands responsible for peeing.

Answer #3

opps, i didnt read the description. For females, the lessening of the chances of STDs still apply, but there are other aspects that cause this. Girls have the sensation to urinate 150cc [a cc is one thousandth of a litre] and after sex you reach this volume after. It is good for both you and your boyfriend to urinate after sex to reduce chances of sexually transmitted diseases nonetheless.

Answer #4

I say try to figure out where the blood is coming from. If it hurts only when you urinate, then it could be a UTI, but the cramps indicate that there’s something else happening in there. Pregnancy sometimes comes with spotting, but I don’t know how common that is, and when you say “bleeding,” it sounds like more than spotting. If you want to know what’s going on and you really think you’re pregnant, you could try getting to a Planned Parenthood, where you wouldn’t need your mom to take you. None of us could really tell you if you’re pregnant or not. Yes, Damon is right, it’s healthy and common to urinate just after sex to clean up a tad, but urinating every hour of the day a few days after having had sex is not the same thing. It could be part of a hormonal change that comes with losing your virginity, I don’t know what effects any birth control might have on that.

Answer #8

IT’s a natural reflex. After ejaculation, your body tries to make you pee to help(for lack of better terms) clean your pen!s out. Bacteria is likely to get into your urethera during sex, and the acidity of urine helps to kill it. It’s natural, and it’s certainly not a bad thing.

Answer #9

Her name is Katie. It says she’s female. Her description says that she was afraid she might be pregnant. But sure, her body is trying to clean her pen!s out.

Answer #10

Probably a UTI - easy enough to treat with antibiotics. Its important to see a doctor and start treatment because if you leave it the infection can spread to your kidneys. Dont worry about your mum, UTIs are really common in women because of the shorter urinary tract. They dont just happen because of sex, though that is a pretty common cause. I got a UTI when I was 8, and I assure you it was nothing to do with sex! In the future, go to the toilet straight after sex. Drinking cranberry juice is also got for preventing them, but its not a cure.
