How do you make a peanut butter icing for a cake?

Answer #1

1 Soften the stick of butter in the microwave for 10 seconds. Do not heat any longer or it will melt. If it has a foil wrapping, remove the wrapping first.

2 Mix butter and peanut butter together in a medium-sized bowl with an electric mixer. Once the ingredients are blended, put the mixer on medium-high speed and beat until well blended. Add vanilla and continue to blend.

3 Add the confectionery sugar alternately with the half-and-half. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add the confectionery sugar. As it thickens, add a small amount of the half-and-half. Continue until you have added all the ingredients.

4 Set the mixer on high speed and mix the icing until fluffy. If it is too thick, add a little more of the half-and-half. If it is too thin, add a little more of the confectionery sugar.

5 Frost the cake or brownies. Make sure the cake or brownies are cool before frosting. Brush off loose crumbs. Dip a wide knife in warm water and begin to spread the frosting. The warm water helps smooth the frosting on.
