Peacefull games

If you have an Xbox Live account, I think you would enjoy A Kingdom for Kelflings. It’s much the same type of game – resource gathering, construction, etc – with no battles involved.

The Viva Pinata games are often overlooked, but are some of the most engaging, relaxing games around. The object is to set up an environment that wild pinatas will find hospitable, and if you do well, they settle down and you stuff them full of candy. I know, it sounds ridiculous, but trust me, it’s the most Zen gaming experience short of Flower for the PS3.

The most in-depth resource-gathering, town-construction gaming experience is in the Civilization series. True, there are some battles going on, but if you play diplomatically, you can usually get through a game without firing a shot. They’re not exactly relaxing, though, in that there is a fair amount of strategy involved.
