Do my parents need to come wit me to get birth control?

i am 16 and want to take birth control but i dont want my parents to know they would freek out if they knew i was having sex

Im not sure about doctors offices, but you can get it from planned parenthood at 16 without your parents. Your best bet though is to let her know your getting them, just tell her that your not having sex but you would like to be prepared in case you change your mind someday. If you talk like a responsible teen and just tell her your taking precautions…shes more likely to take you to the doctor and get them. If you lie and get them behind her back…shes going to be even more mad when she finds them nd finds out.

It would be really helpful if we knew what part of the world you were in. In general, most doctors offices are hesitant to treat minors without parental consent. It is unlikely that you would be able to get birth control there, also given that you either need insurance (in which case your parents would most likely find out) or have to have money to pay for it, a doctors office may be a little difficult. In planned parenthood, or any other sort of health care clinic that deals with reproductive and sexual issues, you may be able to get birth control under the age of 18. yeah, where i live. if you are under 18…thats if you go to a gyn. even some clinics like planned parenthood you need a parent. my mom had to go with me.
