parents..ugh.

I am almost 16 years old. I have no freedom one night I snuck out and got caught and my parents only get mad at me rather than my 2 brothers. I just hate how someone my age cant go out and have fun and I wanna go to dances and go hang out with people my parents dont need to know every detail about. what am I supposed to do I hate this sooo much its killing me. im always stuck at my house with nothing. I cant do anything I hate it and if I wanna be with the guy I like they just think were gonna have sex or something I just wanna have fun in my life and I have nothing.please help me

Many can relate to your problem, so can I. When you refer to your brothers having more freedom than you, think about the fact that they are guys. Don’t label me as prejudice but parents do worry more about their daughters’ than their sons’ because a pregnant 16 year old girl is a fear for many parents, as oppose to a son who has 10 girlfriends at a time. If you want freedom, be open to your parents about how you definitely have no interest in sex ; ), but rather want to live your teenage life and not let it go to waste.

Tell them exactly that. Fight for what’s yours. They’ll get mad at you but you have to show them that if you guys can’t meet on even terms then you won’t just follow their rules.
