How do I tell someone's parents that their son is threatening to commit su!c!de or has su!c!dal tendencies?"

I care so much about this person, he has had a rough life, but unfortunately he has shut me out and does not want me anymore, but I still care about him.. I know his parents like me quite a lot, and I just want them to watch over him, keep an eye out for him while I can’t. But I don’t know how to approach themm without him knowing. I care so much about him, I still love him, I want no harm to come to him and I think the only thing I can do now is talk to his parents. I don’t know even how I should approach them. How would I go about this?

Answer #1

If you care that much for him, then it shouldn’t matter if he finds out it was you who told - you did the right thing. Stop beating around the bush and just tell them before it’s too late.

Answer #2

Thank you so much :}

Answer #3

I agree with Colleen. I would suggest to sit them down and talk to them straight up. They will be grateful that you told them before it was too late.

Answer #4

You tell them that his actions/behaviors/words, whatever have concerned you. You explain what you’ve seen (feelings tend not to over so well, so be clear and direct about what exactly is worrying you), and explain that you think it is serious and you feel he needs help. Parents tend to be reluctant to believe that it is possible for their kids to be that depressed, and very often denial is very often the first reaction. Dont be dramatic, but make it clear that you think he needs some help.

Answer #5

Well you can also meaby tell somebody else like meaby another adult who talk his perents. Bu if you cannot do that then it’s just a thing hat you say straigh out, yo tell them what he has been saying and what you feel is going to happen, Better now and have somehing be done about it than when i is too late,
