Parental Problems
My parents dont let me do anything I want. I don’t believe there is a god, but I dont know how to tell them. I want my hair black, and piercings, and the freedom to dress how I want. my family and I recently moved to a small town which I HATE. I have friends, but I dont really like them that much. how do I talk to them about any of it?? they call me depressed and everything. my sister does. and my mom doesnt even try to talk about it. what do I do? she found I cut my wrists and she yelled at me. she didnt ask why or realize I do it because of her.
I’m not trying to be mean or anything, but even at 13 you are still a child. It may seem like you are all grown up now that you are a teenager, but you arent. You can try to sit down and talk with them about it, but I doubt it’ll get anywhere. The way you wrote your post makes you sound like a stuck up little brat who wants to throw tantrums cause they dont get their way. Face it, you aren’t going to be able to do anything you want just because you want it. That’s life. I didn’t get my first set of piercings until I was 16 and I didn’t get to dye my hair until I was 18. So stop complaining and stop being such a little kid. They wont treat you like anything but a kid unless you prove to them that you are mature. I hope I didn’t come off too mean, I really wasnt trying to be. When you get to be my age, things like this just seem kind of silly. You look back and can’t believe you were ever like that. lol It’s funny.
Then don’t do any of it - if your parents are going to be annoying about some things, then don’t do anything /at all/ just to piss them off.
Parental problems you say. I say they’re your problems.
I respect them and all, and I am very grateful, but I just think they should give me a little longer leash since im not a little kid anymore…
oh I would like to see sunlight sometimes, so I think I probably should do what they say.
Then don’t do any of it - if your parents are going to be annoying about some things, then don’t do anything /at all/ just to piss them off.
Oh yes, that will work to her advantage.
You sound a little moody and ungrateful, to be honest. Just be happy that your parents care enough about you to enforce all those restrictions instead of letting you run around like a street urchin.
haha thanks
the only thing I got is my ears,(which I got done as a baby) and my nose and belly about 3 months ago in the same session. but I did it behind my mums back. I obviously knew she was going to see it but she knew, once I had it done, theeres no going back lol.
If you want a longer ‘leash’ them show them you deserve one! If you don’t prove yourself to them, then forget about it.
well maybe your parents are being like this because they care about you? I do understand you though as im like 13. And my mum wont let me die my hair or anything she says she wants me to be natural as she wants me to become a model, but dont worry because its not only your parents who are like it. Just talk to them? or just wait until your old enough to make desicions for yourself, anyway goodluck :)x
oh… & I got my nose… lol
13.
just talk to them, and if not like I said just wait til your older and old enough to do what you want.
did I mention they are extremely controlling?? thanks. why are parents like that? I mean my mom wants me to be just like her and my sisters, but that will NEVER happen.
im 13… but I gues im sorta lucky… I got my tongue pierced my ears (all the way up) soon 2 b lip & bellybutton I dye my hair every 2 months & I can wear whatever I want… BUT (there is always a catch) I am constantly working (cleaning cooking home school college coarses & always babysitting) I get maybe 3 hours of sleep a day… & if I go anywhere w/ my momma I have 2 take out ALL of my piercings cover up All of my tattoos wear skirts or dresses (usually skirts or something approiate) & I can have NO fingernail polish on… but she does allow me to b w/ an 18 yr old (but hes in the navy now) & she said if I ever have sex before im 16 she will kick my a$$… but I luv her!!! & I have a good life even though im always busy!!
