Parents and the casino

my parents go to the casino like 3 times a week and I feel like they like that more than me. whenever I ask them to stay home they think I am selfish. what should I do

Are they addicted or do they just go for fun? My mom used to go when I was a teenager too. I would let them know how you feel and ask them if there is something more family oriented that you could all enjoy doing. You are their child and making you happy and spending family time should be the most important thing to them until you are old enough to leave the nest. Three times a week is a little excessive, I am a 23 year old mother and I barely go out, so I don’t think you’re being selfish at all. If they are addicted to gambling you might have a harder time getting them to stay home and they might need to get some help. Do you have somebody like a family member that would talk to them? If talking to them does not help I would suggest getting a family member or another adult involved… good luck to you!

I think you really need to talk to them about this. The most important time in a childs life is when they are a teenager and you need them to be there for you. This is really upsetting. I wouldnt dream of going to the casino even once a fourtnight ! Please talk to them and try to make them see you miss them being around. Mel
