oppression/ununization project question

I am doing a project in my english class on why people move from “I” to “we”, I have my general trend of what causes this and I want to apply it to a modern day senario where I might be able to predict what will happen, for example how unions formed (knights of labor).

I had a topic but the situation worked itself out already and im left trying to find one within a day or two now. I need one where theres a mass of people oppressed or treated unfairly and theres a chance they will unionize or work together to over come that obsticle, but it has to be a modern day senario.

please help, THANKS!

the above article describes their denied collective bargaining rights, in other owrds, you may join a union but you may not strike of protest, or have a collective representation

Okay, I know this is a stretch but. The Department of Homeland Security, the airport screeners. When the DHS was formed, President Bush denied them regular government job protection, wages, and the right to unionize. Any complaints must be handled through the government complaint dept. but once a screener phones, they are told they must contact the DHS for complaints. Many, in the beginning, worked hours of overtime and were denied overtime wages. Every airport is considered “right to fire” in other words, no government review board for the firing. They have been trying to unionize for years and are threatened with lay-offs. They currently are trying to get a union in and are forming small city based groups.
